KISH, JOSEPH Of THOMPSONVILLE, MI (Flint, MI)

THOMPSONVILLE - Joseph Kish, 80, of Thompsonville, formerly of Flint, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
      Born Jan. 15, 1923, in Flint, he was the son of Suzanna (Duz) and John Kish. He married Arlene (Papp) Kish March 18, 1944, in Flint.
      Joseph retired from General Motors-Chevrolet Division in Flint. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #531 of Copemish. He was also a member of the Buckley Old Engine Show and found enjoyment in his life from boating, golf, snowmobiling and cutting wood.
      Surviving are his wife, Arlene of Thompsonville; three children, Deborah Karsoe of Flint, Patricia (Keith) Kopriva of Interlochen and Robert (Chris) Kish of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Wendy, Aaron, Sara and Kevin; two great-grandsons, Adam and Trevor; two sisters, Sue Hackett of Flint and Elizabeth Munro of Davison; and several nieces and nephews.
      A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Heritage United Church of Christ, 7074 Davison Rd., in Davison, with Rev. Zoltan Sutto officiating.
      Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Munson Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
      Arrangements have been entrusted to the Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
