This photo is of the S.S. Augusta Viktoria on which Zsuzsana Duzs traveled to the U.S.A. in 1902. Janos Kiss traveled to the U.S.A. and arrived on January 17, 1901 on a similar ship named the S.S. Karlsruhe - Built by Fairfield Shipbuilding & Engineering Company, Glasgow, Scotland, 1890. 5,057 gross tons; 415 (bp) feet long; 48 feet wide. Steam triple expansion engine, single screw. Service speed 13 knots. 2,035 passengers (44 first class, 36 second class, 1,955 third class).
Built for North German Lloyd, German flag, in 1890 and named Karlsruhe. Bremerhaven-New York service. Scrapped in 1908.
